The One-Way Valve in the Oatey Sure-Vent 20 DFU Capacity Air Admittance Valve allows air to enter the plumbing drainage system to prevent negative pressures from developing in the piping system. The main purpose of this Air Admittance Valve is to allow air to enter the plumbing drainage system without needing a vent extended to open air, while also stopping sewer gases from escaping into a building. This one-way valve is specifically designed to close by gravity and seal the vent terminal at zero differential pressure (during no flow conditions) and under positive internal pressures.
